Let Freedom Ring with University of MN

Sweet Potato Comfort Pie will be joining commemorative events hosted by the University of MN in honor of the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs & Freedom. From the organizers, “Join us on Monday, August 28, 2023 for a symbolic procession and uplifting concert. Dynamic artists will activate memories from the Civil Rights era, inspiring each of us to stand in solidarity and renew our commitments to do the hard work of securing liberty and justice for all! Let Freedom Ring will feature Jovonta Patton, Joe Davis & The Poetic Diaspora, Threads Dance Project, Thomasina Petrus, members of the Twin Cities Choral Consortium, and spoken word artist Eshay Brantley. Minnesota’s Attorney General Keith Ellison will give a ‘call to action’ at the concert’s close, sending us off to accelerate our efforts that can heal, relaunch, and move forward together into the next 60 years!”
