7:00 p.m. performance of the play Kumbayah: The Juneteenth Story, written by Rose McGee. Learn the history of this holiday and its significance today in the continued struggle for racial justice and equity. Facilitated conversations about our racial justice journey are offered after each performance. This play was performed in 2022 to audiences of more than 300 people and to warm acclaim. Find out why one student in Duluth, MN said “I feel like this is my first day of a real education.” Join us! Produced in partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center. The 7:00 p.m. performance will include the honoring of local heroes who have been instrumental in the struggle for racial justice including Representative Ruth Richardson, Senator Bobby Joe Champion, Representative Cedric Frazier and Pastor Brian Herron.
