In collaboration with the Minnesota Humanities Center and St. Peter High School, we will indulge in furthering the joy of Black People, especially during Black History Month. Sweet Potato Comfort Pie will bring a piece of the award-winning play, Kumbayah The Juneteenth Story, to the high school during the conference and follow that up with critical conversations through story circle dialogues. Also, the Culinary students made 100 Sweet Potato Pies!
The high school says that the day is meant to honor Black peoples’ rich heritage, culture, and contributions, a “vibrant acknowledgment of Black culture and Black Joy. More than 600 high school students will be able to experience the conference.
