Rose Service Scholar Cohort Mentorship Program

The Rose Service Scholar Cohort (named after our founder, Rose McGee) began in 2021. The program is designed as a vital connection point between Black youth and elders. Students focus on three goals: the “three Cs” of Culture, Caring and Career. Elders receive mentoring from the youth in technology tools and current events so they can stay in touch and connected to today’s world. We use story circle gatherings, one-on-one mentoring, special guest speakers (including leaders and career trail-blazers in the community), culturally affirming field trips, and a final celebration for the “graduation” of our youth participants.
